The Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities at UNC


LINK is a model clinical, training, consultation, and technical assistance program developed to facilitate the provision of transdisciplinary services to individuals with disabilities and their families. The LINK team consists of psychology, speech-language pathology and occupational therapy; other disciplines are available to participate in specific activities upon request. The LINK team focuses on issues related to the assessment of and intervention planning for individuals who have autism, sensory impairments, genetic/medical disorders and developmental disabilities. Specific expertise is on the assessment of children who have complex and significant disabilities including communication challenges requiring consideration of alternative and augmentative communication strategies and devices. LINK team members are available to contract with schools and other agencies for case consultation, workshops and other activities.
